Points West Community Bank is a bank rooted in community. Since 1906, we have been locally-owned and operated. For over 115 years, we have supported our communities and the folks that live there through sound financial support, reinvestment, and active participation.

1909

  • Lisco State Bank was started
  • In merging our locations together, we adopted the 1906 charter of First National Bank in Julesburg

1939

Harold Olson purchased Lisco State Bank

1968

Tom Olson, Harold’s son and then CEO of Lisco State Bank, purchased Dalton State Bank with the help of his brother in-law and two local farmers.

1984

First Savings Company of Sidney was purchased, and later that year, converted to a bank and renamed First National Bank, Sidney, NE

1992

Acquired First National Bank, Torrington, WY

1995

Acquired Lingle State Bank, Lingle, WY

1998

Acquired First National Bank, Julesburg, CO–original charter date of 1906

2000

  • Acquired American National Bank, Kimball, NE
  • Windsor location was constructed

2001

  • Constructed a branch in Pine Bluffs, WY
  • Constructed a branch in Douglas, WY
  • First National Bank, Julesburg purchased the Julesburg branch of Bank of Colorado

2003

  • Constructed the branch in Wellington, CO
  • Acquired Haxtun Community Bank
  • Acquired Deuel County State Bank, Chappell, NE

2006

Constructed a new branch at the interstate in Sidney, NE

2011

Acquired Signature Bank from the FDIC, with locations in Windsor (Water Valley) and Greeley, CO (West Greeley)

2020

Merged all locations across Nebraska, Wyoming and Colorado to operate under one Points West Community Bank charter, which dates back to 1906.
